Halstead Town's promotion hopes suffer setback
10:07am Monday 15th March 2010
Halstead Town's promotion hopes suffered a setback when they were held to a 1-1 draw by lowly Cornard United at Rosemary Lane.
Town boss Jody Brown said: “It was a disappointing performance in which we took 70 minutes to get going.
“We were missing a host of players but pride ourselves on being able to deal with that type of situation.
“Cornard aren't a very strong side and created plenty of chances without playing anywhere near our best.
“But the result says we drew and that's not good enough, although the referee frustrated me with a couple of decisions, especially the yellow card he gave Tom Webb for diving in the box when he was clearly fouled.”
